Skhaa, a leading technology company, has announced its strategic partnership with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at King Abdulaziz University to combat food waste through the development of an innovative mobile application called Knz.
This partnership aims to develop a mobile application that helps in preserving food and reducing food waste, in collaboration with the Faculty of Earth Sciences and the Food Security Authority. It is expected that this application will contribute to raising awareness about the importance of food preservation and reducing wastage, thereby minimizing food loss.
In addition, Sakhaa has developed the initial identity for the project under the name "Kanz." This name was chosen to reflect the concept of transforming wasted food into a treasure that can be utilized and benefit the community.
The company emphasized that this project is part of its ongoing efforts to develop innovative technological solutions to assist the community and address social and environmental issues. The company intends to commence feasibility studies for this application and expedite its development in collaboration with academic partners and relevant institutions.
This application is expected to be part of the company's contribution to achieving sustainable development goals, including target 12.3, which aims to halve global food waste by 2030.
